My Birthday

posted by noiz at 11:36 AM and (1) heard him

I'm 23 years old today. No celebrations just a remembrance and some wishes from close friends, that's all.

Any one out there sharing the same birth date as mine, I wish you "Happy Birthday, may all you days be filled with joy, and love. You will find God's presence sweeter and sweeter day by day. God bless you!"

See you in heaven!

See you in Heaven

posted by noiz at 5:07 PM and (0) heard him

Life has it's ups and downs, has its weard twists, turns and flows. Sadness and ease. Heartaches and smiles. And how, oh! how I wish heartaches to be gone? But that's ok.

Artist: Guardian
Album: Swing Swang Swung
Song: See you in Heaven

It´s hard to say goodbye, my friend
But this waiting can last forever
Sooner or later, the sun must set
Ending this time together
I wish that I had one more chance to spend another day with you
But even though I know I can´t, I´ll see you in heaven
I´ll see you in heaven...

Chorus:
The only thing that hurts more than losing you
Are all of the years of living without you
I wanna run back to you
And show you the life I´ve lived without you
´Cause living without you is the only thing that hurts more than you

I see a picture of a little child
Standing alone, wondering where you are
I can´t believe how this child has grown
Living this life, sometimes so alone
Wishing I had one more chance to have you hold me once again
And even though I know you can´t, you´ll hold me in heaven
You´ll hold me in heaven

(Chorus)

I´ve let so many years of life go by, thinking it´s all worked out
Now I realize I do know how to say that it´s over, and let you go for now

Still, I wish that I had one more chance
To say "I love you" one more time
And even though I know I can´t, I´ll say it in heaven
I´ll say it in heaven...

(Chorus 2X)

Electricity

posted by noiz at 10:24 AM and (0) heard him

The electricity is out again here in Shillong, and I'm updating my blog from my a cyber cafe. There has been some load shedding by the Meghalaya State Electricity Board (MeSEB) since there has not been only very little rain. Our electricity is hydro-electricity so if it doesn't rain this will continue.

On top of that the political arena here is fluctuating and the MeSEB is threatening 24 hours electricity cut out if the Chief Minister doesn't change his mind over an appointment of Mr Basely (who is of retirement age) as chief of a new government institution. I don't want to get into political writings yet but you can go to The Shillong Times's website to check on this. There has already been an office picketing by the Khasi Students' Union (KSU) lasting three days and ended yesterday.

So if the lights go out there will be no postings for some days. Anyway bye for now.

God bless all.

I have categories!

posted by noiz at 5:20 PM and (1) heard him

Since Blogger doesn't have Categories as a feature, its users have scanned the net to find a hack to tackle this while still hosting their blogs on Blogger. In our search we would most probably come across this blog: blogfresh.blogspot.com. Visitors to this blog scan to find the tutorial/s on how to get a category feature on their Blogger blogs using a http://del.icio.us/ account. And now thanks to the hard work of the bloggers of that blog we can now use Freshtags v. 0.5.

A novice blogger like I or any one for that matter feel very grateful to the people who developed Freshtags. God bless them.

Watch less TV 2

posted by noiz at 6:37 PM and (0) heard him

An update on my try to watch less tv post I made before.

The 21 day challenge is still on, though it has been hard to completely let go of tv but I have made some progress, I'm reading more and praying too.

I'm reminded of the following Scripture: "12 Therefore, my dear ones, as you have always obeyed [my suggestions], so now, not only [with the enthusiasm you would show] in my presence but much more because I am absent, work out (cultivate, carry out to the goal, and fully complete) your own salvation with reverence {and} awe and trembling (self-distrust, with serious caution, tenderness of conscience, watchfulness against temptation, timidly shrinking from whatever might offend God and discredit the name of Christ). 13 [Not in your own strength] for it is God Who is all the while effectually at work in you [energizing and creating in you the power and desire], both to will and to work for His good pleasure {and} satisfaction {and} delight." Paul to the Phillipians chapter 2 verses 12-13 (from the Amplified Bible)

I somehow feel so favoured, no I am favoured and strengthened by God as I tackle some of the crazyness in my own life. I find this out as I pray and as the Holy Spirit reminds of Scriptures as the one above. I never thought before that I have to work out my own salvation (verse 12) not in my own strength but by God's very own empowerment (verse 13). I have read these two verses before but never in context with each other. I feel so relieved, God himself is effectually working in me...

Prayer:Lord, strengthen me. Effectually work in me to will and to work for Your good pleasure, delight and satisfaction. I rely on You to strengthen me. You are my refuge. Thank you.

These fit in well too: "14 Do all things without grumbling {and} faultfinding {and} complaining [against God] and questioning {and} doubting [among yourselves], 15 That you may show yourselves to be blameless {and} guileless, innocent {and} uncontaminated, children of God without blemish (faultless, unrebukable) in the midst of a crooked {and} wicked generation [spiritually perverted and perverse], among whom you are seen as bright lights (stars or beacons shining out clearly) in the [dark] world, 16 Holding out [to it] {and} offering [to all men] the Word of Life, so that in the day of Christ I may have something of which exultantly to rejoice {and} glory in that I did not run my race in vain or spend my labor to no purpose." Phillipians 2: 14-16

Tomorrow's Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday on Sunday; may God bless all with the revelation of Jesus during these two important days.

A computer for my friends

posted by noiz at 4:22 PM and (0) heard him

The internet has been slow lately and I'm typing this in Notepad so I can post later. It takes about 5-10 mins to open the Post page on Blogger.

Any way, this morning I went with two of my very best friends to an Importer-Exporter and placed an order for a computer. The computer's for them. They choose a Compaq-Presario machine (with a free HP printer worth Rs. 2999) but the UPS has to be bought seperately.

The total cost - Rs. 31200 + 2200. My friends are happy with the deal. I'm happy too. The delivery is tomorrow.

God bless all.

Update on 13 April, 2006: My friends changed their minds and they're getting a different one. I hope it's a better one. God bless!

Try to watch less TV

posted by noiz at 5:42 PM and (0) heard him

I want to watch no TV at all for 21 days - at home. And I have tried to do this since the 6th of April, 2006. I read that it takes 21 days (3 weeks) to break a habit and create a new one (may be I'll read more or something in stead of wasting hours watching TV). So I'm taking a 21 days challenge of watching no tv at all at my own home. If I'm at my friends place, I'll just politely ask them to turn off the tv or ... (we'll see!). So all the best to me.

What happens after 21 days? I'll have to work on an action plan.

Action No. 17 on
wearewhatwedo.org is Try to watch less TV, and that's what I'm doing. The are 5879 people who have done this so far as listed on there and they're growing. And the last time I check there were 25 people at http://www.43things.com/ (not including me) who want to watch less tv.

All the best to all.

Blog Readings

posted by noiz at 1:58 PM and (0) heard him

Well, to do this I usually visit my favourite blogs using my web browser.

Also, when I surf the
through Blog Clicker, Blog Exchange, Blog Explosion or Blog Traffic I sometimes read the first few posted displayed on the person's blog, if I like the blog I bookmark it to visit later.

I also use
Technorati's .

Recently I downloaded and installed
RSSReader and it automatically gets the updates from the feeds I have saved which is cool but I still have to surf the net to find more blogs to read.

How do you find and read other people's blogs?

paid to read

posted by noiz at 11:19 AM and (0) heard him

Well, I've joined a couple of paid to read websites. Of course, there are a lot of scams on the net and it's hard to identify which once they are! When I get paid from the I'll list them on the blog.

Why am I doing this? I don't know, I think I'm facinated by the prospect of getting paid for using the internet. So all the best to me and to any one out there who want to earn from the net!

If you're looking to join paid to read programmes on the net remember they're slow earning, don't think that you'll become rich over night. Don't join too many of them, it might get confusing.
