Forgiving Others
Posted on 5:49 pm March-14-2006
Forgiving people for the hurt that they have done to you is hard, yes – but if we want to experience peace in our lives this becomes most important. In forgiving people on purpose and loving them on purpose, you become the better person. You have the power to stop strife at its beginning, to change a situation around from bad to redemptive and even gain a friend instead of an enemy in the process. This brings a whole new dimension to life, don’t you think?

To be continued...

Let God be praised.

It's hard to forgive others, especially when they cause a lot of hurt not only to you but others around you.

I think the key to forgiving is to know, and truly know that some people don't do it intentionally, some people don't know any better, and some people just don't know.

There are life experiences that bring each person to where he/she is today, and unless you can fully comprehend and experience each event to its entirety, you have to forgive that person.

Thanks for the comment rob in china. Yes, some people just don't know any better. Sometimes when we run into such people we just have to turn away for a while, smile, hold back the tears and forgive. Our first intentions were always to forgive and forget. When we talk about it later over a cup of tea we will have a great laugh, ironic though! It may be hard but its fulfilling.

We would have won over a temptation to carry on arguing; and still be mature enough to confront the person in a kind manner (pershaps later), making sure he/she realises the truth (and consequences) of the wrong that they have done and that they understands the importance of not repeating whatever it is that they did to you on others.

What about the other times? Well, just let go.

Reminds me of this Scripture: But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. - Romans 5:8 (NIV)
